Actus Reus is a Georgia-based metalcore band known for blending raw aggression, melody, and groove into a sound that hits as hard live as it does in the studio. Formed in the late 2010s, the band broke into the Atlanta metal scene with their debut EP Vengeance (2019) and quickly gained momentum with their 2020 single Cultist featuring Taylor Barber of Left to Suffer. Their breakout performance at Welcome to Rockville 2021 drew over 2,000 attendees and marked them as one of the Southeast’s rising heavy acts. Following the success of their LP Mens Rea and the 2024 EP NUMERICA, Actus Reus continued to evolve with the addition of new vocalist Donny Payne in 2025. The lineup debuted this new chapter with the singles “Rabid Dogs” and “Mother Earth,” showcasing a darker, more dynamic sound that reflects the band’s growth.
