The Noctambulant is a Southern Gothic black metal band from Jacksonville, Florida. Their music combines black and death metal with blues, rockabilly, goth rock, and American country. Southern folklore, haunted churches, religious traditions, and the swamps and forests of Florida give the band a regional identity separate from the Scandinavian imagery common in black metal.
Their newest album, Revival, will be released through Terminus Hate City on September 18, 2026. The record focuses on the myths, spirits, and religious culture of the American South while maintaining the aggression of the band’s earlier work. Its newest single, “San Martino,” follows a legend about a lost Southern settlement and the creatures said to live in the surrounding wilderness. Revival was previously introduced by “Skeleton Key,” a song about seeking salvation and immortality at any cost.

The Noctambulant’s earlier catalog includes the 2021 album Hellrazor, The Cold and Formless Deep from 2019, and their 2016 debut Advocatus Diaboli.Touring has taken The Noctambulant throughout the United States and Europe. In 2019, the band completed its first European run alongside Vader, Hate, and Thy Disease. They later joined Mörk Gryning, Arsantiqva, and Promethean Horde for an 11-date U.S. tour in 2022, traveling from Brooklyn through the Midwest and Southeast before closing in Philadelphia.
